Although Smoky Hill Trail is not recognized as a National Trail by the National Parks Service, you have read and heard rich stories about this famous trail to the Colorado gold fields. The Association believes the historical importance of the Trail warrants National Historic Trail Designation and has begun the legislation process to get the trail recognized as such.
